Gregory Reggie has been a practicing attorney for over 25 years, concentrating in complex business, real estate and development transactions, as well as automotive and franchise disputes. He has participated in mediations both as an advocate and as a mediator. He received his mediation training from the Harvard Negotiation Institute.
Gregory has served for more than twenty-five years as counsel to a Louisiana state agency charged with licensing and regulating the automotive and recreational vehicle industries. Gregory handles legal and regulatory matters involving automobile, RV, motorcycle, boat and trailer manufacturers, distributors, dealers and personnel. He regularly serves as a mediator in issues arising between manufacturers and dealers, and has resolved numerous multi-million dollar disputes. He has been instrumental in drafting and passing legislation important to the automotive industry, and has served on numerous task forces created to modernize regulation of the automotive industry.
Working in strategic partnerships with national development companies, Gregory has coordinated legal services related to site location and acquisition, contracting, zoning and regulatory matters, financing, construction, leasing and structuring of sales for multi-family developments, retail centers, permitted environmental properties, retirement communities and hotels. He has structured transactions and legal services for numerous multi-million dollar developments.
Gregory's early career was spent representing financial institutions in closings and foreclosures, and representing real estate developers, automotive dealerships and radio stations in acquisitions and sales.
Community Involvement
As a community leader, Gregory has served as Chairman of the Crowley 20-20 Commission (evaluating and recommending priorities and reforms for city government), Chairman of the Crowley Centennial Commission, President of the Crowley Kiwanis Club, and Chairman of the Acadia Parish Heart Association. Active in his church, he has been a catechism teacher and lector, and has served on the St. Michael Athletic Board. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Acadia Savings and Loan (now Iberia Bank), and a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Episcopal School of Acadiana. He serves on the board of directors of the Grand Opera House of the South.
